Twinkletoes

IMG_6080

The Oxford Dictionary defines “Twinkletoes” as “a person who is quick and nimble on their feet”. The term usually refers to ballet dancers- who happen to be the superheroes of my pretty little world.

I had the opportunity to take some shots of one little dancer during a recital. It was a first for me, but it turned out to be a beautiful chance to snap up some great images. Please enjoy these trinkets, because there is just something so breathtaking about the grace and elegance of a little dancer!

Remembering Africa

I had a brilliant opportunity to visit a township in Vrygrond, SA. These are my little memories of what was one of the most inspirational trips in my life. I want to share these bits with you:

Like a child

“The soul is healed by being with children.”

-English proverb-

Children enjoy life for what it is. Their innocence guards them from the opinions of others. They are at their truest form. It should be admired and inspire others to live in the same way. I love photographing kids because they are uninhibited and without restraint. They are shockingly honest. It is such a beautiful thing to be around, that it captivates my soul every time.

“Woof” is “meow” in dog.

IMG_3203 “Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring–it was peace.” ― Milan Kundera

This was my first shoot including pets. Liz has three puppies, but if you asked her, she would most likely tell you that they are more like her children. Photographing these pups was a unique task, but it was joyously rewarding to play with them all and capture their loving interactions!

Leaving a trail…

IMG_7180

“She had no need to ask why he had come. She knew as certainly as if he had told her that he was here to be where she was.”
― Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina, Vol 1 of 8

We all walk a path, we all leave our trail giving opportunity to followers. There are always eyes upon you, so be mindful of where you lead- I choose to lead others to a beautiful place.

Little Handsome

A beautiful day in the park with this little guy, made for a great workout! Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting a little two-year-old will be able to confirm that they contain such a great energy, contagious to all around! We had a blast running through the grass, sitting by the lake and blowing many bubbles!
